I Wanna Know


One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I live life through song. I mean, I can think of a song in the middle of a conversation, while watching a movie—you name it. My daughter and sister find it quite annoying, but I think it just adds to my charm.

You came to my blog, so that means you wanna know a little more about your girl. Did you catch that the heading is from a song? Cue the music! Seriously—so here we go. (That’s from another song. Keep up, people!)

Alabama is where I hail from. I’m one of six children—baby #3. Where are all my middle children at?!

Growing up in a single-parent household had its challenges. We moved around so much—just about every two years—that it wasn’t until 2024 that I realized I’d carried that pattern into adulthood. I’m proud to say I’m going on year four in my current residence. I’m sure that story will come up as we dive deeper into this unexpected journey.

Right now, I’m a single mother. Love Jesus! I’ve never been married, but I hope to be one day. And let me just say, the dating journey has been quite the experience. My daughter is the best version of me and her dad. I always say, “I want to be like her when I grow up.” Mainly because she’s living the kind of life I’m working toward—full, healed, and whole. She actually enjoys being a child, and I love that for her. When I was her age, I couldn’t wait to grow up and leave. She’s dreading turning 13 next year because it means she’s growing up. More on that later.

Thank you for taking the time to read this far. I hope you’ll continue walking with me on this journey. I don’t claim to be an expert on everything, but I do believe I’m an expert on my own life. I’ve discovered the beauty of community and doing life with people, and I pray you’ll be encouraged to do the same. We weren’t meant to do this journey called life alone. I know I can’t—and I pray you don’t either.

Free Fallin'

  These past few days have been… interesting. Not all bad, not all good. I’d say it’s been a space of indifference. I’ve been processing information, trying to listen to what my body is telling me, while also tuning in to the Holy Spirit. I’m not trying to convince myself of anything. I’m just taking my raw emotions to the One I know can heal and speak truth: God. So, I recently did a thing. I submitted my letter of resignation, with no backup plan. If you know me, you know I try to have a plan for everything. If something doesn’t work out, I need a fallback. While I’m being honest… I’ve even done that in relationships.
