Hey Y'all!!

 


My name is Danielle, but my closest friends—and a few family members—call me Dani. I’m a Southern gal (if the “y’all” didn’t give it away), and I want to invite you into the story of my unexpected journey—life, parenting, dating, friendships, you name it.

Life has definitely thrown me some curveballs, like I’m sure it has for many of you. Through it all, I hope you see Jesus in my story—and maybe even get in a good laugh or cry (or both). Because let’s be real, sometimes you’ve just got to laugh it out or cry it out. Either way, both are super helpful!

What comes to mind when you think of water? I’m sure you’ve never gotten that question before—at least, I haven’t. Water is essential to life. It’s satisfying to drink and beautiful to watch. It can also be dangerous when a storm is present. When I was a child, I LOVED being in the water. My dad got a pool when we were younger, and we would spend all day in it until we were wrinkly. We’d be famished and could eat up the entire house. As I got older and started getting relaxers, my visits to the pool became infrequent. I Wanna Know

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I live life through song. I mean, I can think of a song in the middle of a conversation, while watching a movie—you name it. My daughter and sister find it quite annoying, but I think it just adds to my charm. You came to my blog, so that means you wanna know a little more about your girl. Did you catch that the heading is from a song? Cue the music! Seriously—so here we go. (That’s from another song. Keep up, people!) Alabama is where I hail from. I’m one of six children—baby #3. Where are all my middle children at?! Growing up in a single-parent household had its challenges. We moved around so much—just about every two years—that it wasn’t until 2024 that I realized I’d carried that pattern into adulthood. I’m proud to say I’m going on year four in my current residence. Free Fallin'

  These past few days have been… interesting. Not all bad, not all good. I’d say it’s been a space of indifference. I’ve been processing information, trying to listen to what my body is telling me, while also tuning in to the Holy Spirit. I’m not trying to convince myself of anything. I’m just taking my raw emotions to the One I know can heal and speak truth: God. So, I recently did a thing. I submitted my letter of resignation, with no backup plan. If you know me, you know I try to have a plan for everything. If something doesn’t work out, I need a fallback. While I’m being honest… I’ve even done that in relationships. You’re probably thinking, “This chick needs therapy.” Guess what? You’re right. 😅 But that’s beside the point. I felt like the Lord was leading me to leave—and I did—with no “Danielle Plan.” And you know what?
